On the main battlefield of power battery technology, ternary lithium, lithium iron phosphate, and lithium titanate are engaged in an ongoing multi-player battle.

Currently, nickel-metal hydride and lithium-ion batteries dominate China's automotive power battery market. With technological advancements, lithium-ion power batteries have become the market mainstream, categorized by cathode materials into ternary materials, lithium iron phosphate, lithium manganese oxide, and others.

Domestically, ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate batteries are widely adopted for bus applications. The former faced a temporary suspension last year due to safety concerns. While lithium iron phosphate batteries maintain dominance, issues with graphite anodes—such as the formation of SEI films leading to lower charge/discharge efficiency and significant irreversible capacity loss—remain unresolved.
